Who can take part

  • You have a bloodstream infection caused by staph bacteria.
  • You have health insurance or are entitled to social security.
  • You haven't been on antibiotics for this infection for more than 5 days.
  • You haven't had a nasal decolonization treatment for staph in the past year.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Your bloodstream infection is only staph, not mixed with other bacteria.
