Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 70 years old
- You are having thoracoscopic surgery (surgery through small cuts in the chest)
- Your physical status is rated ASA I or II (generally healthy or mild illness only)
- You do not have allergies to the pain medicines used in the study
- You do not have bleeding disorders or severe heart, liver, or kidney disease
- You are not currently using strong painkillers (opioids) for chronic pain and do not have uncontrolled mental illness
