Exercises for postpartum tummy separation

This study compares two types of exercise—hypopressive exercises and Pilates—to see which works better for healing abdominal separation (diastasis) in new moms. If you recently had a baby and have a gap in your stomach muscles, this trial might help you find an effective way to recover.

Who can take part

  • First-time mothers over 18 years old
  • Within 3 months after giving birth
  • Have a tummy muscle gap wider than 2.5 cm (measured just above or below your belly button)
  • Delivered vaginally (not by C-section)
  • No hernia or bulging near your belly button
  • No past stomach surgeries
  • Not currently doing other treatments for your tummy separation
