Who can take part
- You must be a child under 10 years old.
- You were in the hospital for severe anemia (very low red blood cells) or severe malaria (needing strong malaria medicine by injection).
- You must not have another known cause for severe anemia, like trauma, blood cancer, or a bleeding disorder.
- You must not have sickle cell disease.
- You must weigh at least 5 kilograms (about 11 pounds).
