Who can take part

  • You have type 1 diabetes
  • You had diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious high-blood-sugar emergency with ketones) when first diagnosed, or you still have ketones in your urine
  • You tested positive for certain antibodies linked to type 1 diabetes (like islet cell antibodies or GAD antibodies)
  • Your C-peptide levels (a measure of how much insulin your body makes) are very low, both before and after eating
  • You are willing to use a continuous glucose monitor and fill out questionnaires
