Safety study of Sonazoid for liver ultrasound in children

Focal Liver Lesions

This trial tests a contrast agent called Sonazoid, which is used during an ultrasound to get clearer pictures of the liver. It is for children and teens who have one or more spots in the liver that need to be checked. The goal is to see if Sonazoid is safe and works well for children.

Who can take part

  • You are under 18 years old.
  • You have at least one untreated spot in the liver (up to 8 spots, not counting cysts), less than 8 cm in size, seen on a recent ultrasound, CT, or MRI scan.
  • A CT or MRI scan with contrast was done in the past month, or is planned within the next month.
  • Your body weight is at least 3 kilograms (about 6.6 pounds).
  • You have no known allergy to eggs or egg products, or you have a negative egg allergy test.
  • If you are a girl who has started menstruating, you must have a negative pregnancy test and use birth control. Boys who are sexually active with a partner who could get pregnant must also use birth control.
