Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a newly diagnosed liver tumor, such as liver cancer, a spot that spread from another cancer, or a benign growth like a hemangioma
  • Your doctor has recommended a contrast-enhanced ultrasound as part of your regular care
  • You are willing to talk with your doctor about the study and sign a consent form
  • You do not have severe allergies to the ultrasound contrast agent (sulfur hexafluoride)
  • You can lie still during the ultrasound and do not have broken skin or too much fluid in your belly that would block the sound waves
