Who can take part

  • You must have been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia or a high-risk form of myelodysplastic neoplasms (MDS) that has returned or not improved after treatment, OR you must have untreated acute myeloid leukemia.
  • Your weight must be at least 40 kg (about 88 lbs).
  • You should be able to take care of yourself and be up and about (ECOG score 0 to 2).
  • Your kidneys must work well enough, as measured by a test (eGFR of 40 or higher).
  • You cannot need extra oxygen or have serious lung problems.
  • You must not have active infections, allergies to the study drug, or cancer that has spread to the brain.
