Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have atrial fibrillation (AF) that is not caused by heart valve problems and is not the type that comes and goes quickly (non-paroxysmal).
  • Your AF was first diagnosed within the last 5 years.
  • After your first catheter ablation, you still have episodes of irregular heartbeat that last more than 24 hours and do not stop on their own.
  • You are either not taking antiarrhythmic drugs (like amiodarone, dronedarone, or propafenone) after the procedure, or you have been off them for at least 1 month.
