This trial tests a new drug, nadofaragene firadenovec, which uses a harmless virus to deliver a signal that helps your immune system fight low-grade cancer in the upper part of the urinary tract (the kidney area). It's given directly into the kidney through a small tube, and may avoid more invasive surgery.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a low-grade (not high-grade) cancer in the upper urinary tract, confirmed by biopsy within the last 2 months.
  • You have at least one small tumor (5 to 15 mm) above the point where the ureter meets the kidney, and it can be seen with a scope.
  • You are willing to be followed for at least 18 months after your first dose.
  • Your overall health is fairly good (ECOG score 2 or less, meaning you can care for yourself).
  • Your kidney function is adequate (eGFR at least 45, or 60 for the first group).
