Study of keeping kidneys longer in upper tract bladder cancer
Treatments studied
Part of Cancer, Kidney & urinary, Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.
This Phase 2 trial studies whether a combination treatment can control high-grade upper tract urothelial cancer without removing the kidney and ureter (radical nephroureterectomy). It may help people who must avoid surgery or choose not to have it because of medical risk.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You are age 18 or older and have a confirmed diagnosis of high-grade upper tract urothelial cancer (UTUC).
- You cannot or will not have the standard surgery to remove the kidney and ureter (radical nephroureterectomy), or your medical team says surgery is too risky.
- You have not had prior whole-body (systemic) treatment for advanced UTUC or other urothelial cancer sites, except certain past chemotherapy timing.
- Your cancer may have limited lymph node spread (one lymph node only, with the largest size up to 2 cm).
- Your overall health tests are good enough for treatment (blood counts and liver function within study limits), and your performance status is either 0 or 2.

This Phase 1/2 trial tests whether combining sacituzumab govitecan with enfortumab vedotin (and in one group, pembrolizumab) can shrink or control metastatic urothelial (bladder/urinary tract) cancer. It’s mainly for people whose cancer has grown despite prior treatment.
This trial tests a two-drug combination (pembrolizumab and enfortumab vedotin) followed by maintenance pembrolizumab for people with advanced bladder cancer that has not been treated before. The goal is to see if this approach helps control the cancer for longer.
This trial tests a combination of two drugs, enfortumab vedotin and pembrolizumab, given before surgery for upper tract urothelial cancer. The goal is to see if this treatment can shrink the tumor and improve outcomes for patients who are candidates for surgery.
This Phase 2 study tests giving pembrolizumab (an immune therapy) and enfortumab vedotin (an antibody-drug medicine) before and after surgery to remove high-risk upper urinary tract cancer. The goal is to lower the chance the cancer comes back.
This trial tests two drugs, enfortumab vedotin and pembrolizumab, given before surgery to remove the bladder or ureter in people with advanced bladder or upper urinary tract cancer that has spread to lymph nodes or other organs. The goal is to see if this treatment helps shrink the cancer and improves outcomes.
This trial tests a combination of two drugs, enfortumab vedotin and pembrolizumab, to treat bladder cancer that has grown into the muscle of the bladder. The goal is to shrink or eliminate the cancer so that surgery to remove the bladder may not be needed.
