Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 2 months and 7 years old.
  • Your child is scheduled for laparoscopic surgery (belly-button surgery) under general anesthesia.
  • Your child’s overall health should be mild to moderate (ASA I, II, or III — your doctor will know this).
  • Your child should not have chronic pain or take daily pain medicine for it.
  • Your child should not have heart problems, nerve/muscle disorders, or allergies to anesthesia drugs.
  • This cannot be an emergency surgery.
