Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for lower abdominal surgery (like hernia repair, gynecologic or urologic procedures).
  • You are between 18 and 55 years old.
  • You are generally healthy or have only mild health problems (ASA I or II).
  • You are not severely obese, and you do not have serious heart, liver, kidney, or nerve-damage diabetes.
  • You are not taking blood thinners and have no bleeding disorders.
  • You have no known allergies to the study drugs.
