  • You are age 60 or older
  • You are having coronary artery bypass or valve replacement surgery with general anesthesia
  • You do not have a serious brain condition, mental illness, or drug abuse history
  • You can complete simple thinking and memory tests
  • You have not had a recent heart surgery or major complication during this surgery
