- You are 18 years or older
- You are scheduled for surgery under general anesthesia that uses fentanyl
- You do not have any metal implants or other MRI contraindications
- You have not used opiates in the last 24 hours
- You have no history of opiate abuse in the last 3 years
- You do not have severe chronic pain that requires daily opiates
