  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are scheduled for surgery under general anesthesia that uses fentanyl
  • You do not have any metal implants or other MRI contraindications
  • You have not used opiates in the last 24 hours
  • You have no history of opiate abuse in the last 3 years
  • You do not have severe chronic pain that requires daily opiates
