Testing skin-light reading and light therapy for newborn jaundice

This study checks whether a device that reads bilirubin through the skin can be used to guide treatment with newborn phototherapy (special light). It may help babies with jaundice get the right monitoring and light treatment safely.

Extra medicines with light therapy for newborn jaundice

Stopping light therapy early in newborns with blood breakdown

This study looks for a safe threshold to stop the “light therapy” (phototherapy) in newborns who have jaundice caused by blood cell breakdown (hemolytic disease). It may help some babies avoid unnecessary extra days of treatment while still staying safe.

Predicting jaundice return after light therapy in newborns

This study looks at newborn babies treated with light therapy for jaundice to find out who might need extra monitoring after treatment stops. It aims to help doctors predict if jaundice will come back within 48 hours.

Predicting severe jaundice in newborns

This trial tests a scoring tool called BIND to see how well it predicts which newborns with severe jaundice need intensive treatment. If you have a baby under 28 days old with severe jaundice that might need a blood transfusion, this study could apply to them.
