  • You had surgery 4 to 6 weeks ago, and your vitamin D level is between 30 and 50 ng/mL
  • You are between 21 and 65 years old
  • You are able to make your own medical decisions
  • You agree to take vitamin D supplements after surgery
  • You agree to have your blood checked for vitamin D levels regularly
  • You do not have chronic kidney disease, kidney stones, overactive parathyroid, or allergies to vitamin D
