Who can take part

  • You are between 20 and 75 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with a type of esophageal cancer called 'squamous cell carcinoma' that cannot be removed with surgery because it has grown into nearby tissues or lymph nodes in the chest, but has not spread to distant organs.
  • You have not had any previous treatment (chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy) for this esophageal cancer.
  • You are in generally good health (able to do most daily activities without help).
  • You do not have any other active cancer, serious heart or lung disease, or uncontrolled infections.
