Review of Limb Lengthening with Precice Nail or External Fixator in Children

Who can take part

  • The patient was 12 years or younger at the time of surgery.
  • They had a leg length difference of at least 2 cm (about 3/4 inch) in the thigh or shin bone.
  • The leg length difference was present from birth or caused by a medical condition or injury.
  • The surgery used either the Precice IMLL nail or an external fixator device for bone lengthening.
  • Medical records and X-rays are available from before surgery through at least 12 months after.
  • There were no ongoing joint stiffness, looseness, or bone infection in the treated leg before this surgery.
