Brain stimulation for mood problems after COVID-19

This study tests if repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), a non-invasive brain stimulation technique, can help people aged 18 to 65 who have ongoing depression or low mood for more than 12 weeks after a confirmed COVID-19 infection. Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You must have had a confirmed COVID-19 infection (by a PCR test or antibody test).
  • You must still have depression symptoms (scoring 15 or higher on a standard depression scale) lasting more than 12 weeks since your COVID infection.
  • You must have no history of mental health problems before your COVID infection.
  • You cannot have any major medical conditions (like kidney failure, liver disease, heart failure, or heart disease) or substance use disorder.
  • You cannot have any metal devices near your head (like cochlear implants or certain implants), a history of seizures, strokes, or head injuries.
