Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old and have had a liver transplant.
  • You have a Gram-negative bacterial infection within the first 90 days after transplant.
  • You are being treated with a beta-lactam antibiotic (like penicillin or cephalosporin).
  • You have not received this antibiotic for less than 48 hours.
  • Your infection is not resistant to all beta-lactam antibiotics.
  • You are not in hospice care or have a do-not-resuscitate order.
