Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You are scheduled to have a leg amputation (below the knee, through the knee, or above the knee) due to blood vessel disease.
- You are able to undergo general anesthesia and have a nerve surgeon available for the procedure.
- You do not have a history of severe pain syndromes (like Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) or an existing painful nerve lump (neuroma) in the leg being amputated.
- You do not have numbness at the amputation level, cognitive problems, or are receiving radiation therapy on the affected leg.
