Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You are scheduled to have weight-loss (bariatric) surgery
- You are willing to have a liver biopsy and a FibroScan test
- You do not have fluid in your belly (ascites) or are pregnant
- You do not have a pacemaker or other active implanted device
- You do not have a current cancer diagnosis or terminal illness
