Using FibroScan to Diagnose Fatty Liver in People with Obesity

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are scheduled to have weight-loss (bariatric) surgery
  • You are willing to have a liver biopsy and a FibroScan test
  • You do not have fluid in your belly (ascites) or are pregnant
  • You do not have a pacemaker or other active implanted device
  • You do not have a current cancer diagnosis or terminal illness
