Part of Cancer, Lungs & breathing clinical trials.

This study tests a milder chemotherapy combined with an immunotherapy drug (anti-PD-1) as the first treatment for advanced lung cancer in older or frailer adults. It aims to see if this approach works better with fewer side effects.

Who can take part

  • You must have advanced non-small cell lung cancer (stage IIIB, IIIC, or IV) or cancer that has come back and can't be treated with curative intent.
  • You are 70 or older, or have health issues (frailty) that make standard treatment harder.
  • Your cancer's PD-L1 level must be less than 50% — this is a protein that helps decide if immunotherapy can work.
  • You cannot have certain gene mutations that have approved targeted therapies (testing is optional for one type).
  • You must be able to do daily activities with some help (ECOG performance status 0 to 3).
