Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are scheduled for a robot-assisted hiatal hernia repair (not an emergency)
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 40 or less
  • You do not have a history of chronic pain or opioid dependence
  • You do not have COPD or use oxygen therapy
  • You are not pregnant, incarcerated, or unable to consent
