Who can take part

  • You are 20 years old or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with peri-implant mucositis, meaning the gum around a dental implant is inflamed and bleeds when gently probed, but there is no bone loss.
  • You have not had radiation therapy to the area around the implant.
  • You are not currently receiving chemotherapy or long-term corticosteroid medications.
  • You are not pregnant or nursing.
  • You do not have HIV or another condition that severely weakens your immune system.
