Who can take part
- You have type 2 diabetes and are 18 or younger (child or teen).
- You have been taking metformin and/or long-acting insulin for at least 8 weeks without changing the dose.
- You weigh at least 110 pounds (50 kg) and your BMI is in the 85th percentile or higher for your age and sex.
- You have NOT had diabetic ketoacidosis or a very high blood sugar crisis after your diabetes diagnosis.
- You have not used any other diabetes medicines (besides metformin, long-acting insulin, or dulaglutide) in the past 8 weeks.
- You have no history of severe low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) or loss of awareness of low blood sugar in the last 6 months.
