Who can take part
- You are 18 to 65 years old.
- You have had a positive HBsAg test (hepatitis B surface antigen) for at least 6 months.
- You have a family history of liver cancer (in parents, children, siblings, grandparents, aunts, or uncles).
- You are planning to take or already taking peginterferon alpha-2b with a nucleoside analog, or a nucleoside analog alone.
- You are not allergic to interferon, do not have advanced liver cirrhosis, certain blood cell counts are adequate, and you are not pregnant or planning pregnancy within 2 years.
