  • You are between 12 and 20 years old
  • You have all of your permanent teeth (no baby teeth left)
  • You need braces that stay on your teeth (fixed braces)
  • You do not smoke
  • Your teeth are healthy—no large fillings, untreated cavities, or weak enamel
  • You do not have a medical condition that weakens your immune system
