Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for hand or forearm surgery that can use a nerve block.
  • You are classified as ASA I or II (generally healthy or with mild disease).
  • You are not morbidly obese (BMI less than or equal to 40).
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners like warfarin or heparin.
  • You are not allergic to local anesthetics.
  • You are not pregnant and do not have a nerve disease or infection near the injection site.
