Who can take part
- You are between 30 and 60 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with gum disease (periodontitis stage II or III).
- Either you are generally healthy with no other long-term illnesses and not on regular medications, OR you have end-stage kidney disease, are on dialysis, and have type 2 diabetes.
- You do not smoke.
- If you have kidney disease, you have not had a kidney transplant and have no other major illnesses besides diabetes.
