Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 40 or higher, or 35 or higher with a weight-related health problem like diabetes, high blood pressure, or sleep apnea.
- You have tried to lose weight before through diet, exercise, or medical programs.
- You have not had prior weight loss surgery or major stomach surgery.
- You are not pregnant, not planning to become pregnant in the next year, and have no severe heart, lung, liver, or psychiatric conditions.
