Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30.
- You are having planned (elective) surgery that will last less than 2 hours, and you will be lying on your back.
- You will receive general anesthesia with a laryngeal mask airway (a tube placed in your throat to help you breathe).
- You have no known problems with your face or airway, no teeth that are loose, no acid reflux, and no current cold or respiratory infection.
- You do not smoke or use betel nuts.
