Who can take part
- You have small cell lung cancer that has spread extensively (stage IV) and it has come back or not responded to at least one type of platinum-based chemotherapy.
- You can give a sample of your tumor tissue from an old surgery or a new biopsy.
- You must not have a history of lung inflammation (interstitial lung disease) or pneumonitis that needed steroids, unless it was just from radiation to the chest and didn't need steroids.
- You have not had unstable heart problems, a stroke, or major blood clots in the last 6 months.
- You are not currently on high-dose steroids (more than 10 mg of prednisone daily) or other strong immune-suppressing medicines.
- You have not had untreated or actively growing brain metastases.
