Continuous vs. single-injection nerve block for outpatient knee replacement

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are having a first-time, one-sided total knee replacement
  • You are scheduled to receive a single-injection nerve block as part of your plan
  • You weigh more than 110 pounds (50 kg)
  • You do not take strong opioids daily for pain
  • You have no muscle or nerve problems in the leg being operated on
