Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with focal epilepsy that is hard to control with medications
- You have tried at least 2 seizure medicines that did not stop your seizures
- You are willing to keep a daily electronic seizure diary (or have a caregiver help you)
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 40
- You are currently taking 1 to 4 seizure medicines at a stable dose for at least 28 days before the study starts
- You have had at least 4 observable focal seizures during a baseline period and no seizure-free period longer than 21 days
