Virtual reality to reduce anxiety before bronchoscopy

This trial tests whether using a virtual reality headset while waiting for a bronchoscopy (a lung exam with a thin, flexible camera) can help lower your anxiety. You will be randomly assigned to either use the headset or get standard care.

Who can take part

  • You are an adult seen as an outpatient at Le Mans Hospital.
  • You need a bronchoscopy (lung exam) and are awake for it.
  • You have not had a bronchoscopy while awake before.
  • You are not allergic or overly sensitive to screens or virtual reality.
  • You do not have epilepsy, vertigo, or a serious mental health condition.
