Who can take part

  • You are 22 or older.
  • A doctor has diagnosed you with plantar fasciitis, and an ultrasound shows your plantar fascia is thickened (over 4 mm) with increased blood flow.
  • Your heel pain is at least a 5 out of 10 when asked to rate it.
  • You have tried at least 6 weeks of non-surgical treatments (like rest, ice, stretching, or physical therapy) and they didn't help enough.
  • You do not have other causes of heel pain (like a stress fracture or gout), and you have not had a steroid shot in the area within the past 90 days.
  • You have not had surgery or a rupture of the plantar fascia, and you do not have severe kidney problems, type 1 diabetes, or poor circulation in your legs.
