Who can take part
- You are a pregnant adult or mature minor (age of consent in your area) planning to give birth at a participating public health facility.
- The facility has at least 25 births per month and does not already add chlorine to its water.
- You are able to give informed consent and do not plan to move more than 2 hours away from the facility during the study.
- If you have a miscarriage before 28 weeks or a stillbirth, you and your baby will not be able to take part.
- You and your newborn will be enrolled together.
