- Your baby was born before 37 weeks of pregnancy (premature).
- Your baby is currently in the NICU at Alexandria University Children's Hospitals.
- Your baby must be under 72 hours old (3 days) when joining the study.
- Your baby does not have any major birth defects, immune system problems, or inherited metabolic conditions.
- Your baby does not have an infection that started in the first 3 days of life (early-onset sepsis).
- You (the parent or guardian) must agree in writing for your baby to take part.
