Megakaryocyte Study for Sickle Cell Disease

Sickle Cell Disease (SCD)

This study looks at a certain type of blood cell (megakaryocytes) in people with sickle cell disease. It aims to learn more about the disease and is only for patients followed at the Guadeloupe sickle cell center who are in a stable phase (no recent crisis or transfusion).

Who can take part

  • You have SS or SC sickle cell disease (confirmed by a specific test).
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have not had a sickle cell complication in the last month or a blood transfusion in the last 3 months.
  • You get your sickle cell care at the University Hospital of Guadeloupe.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form and have French national health insurance.
