Robotic surgery for gallstones and bile duct stones

Who can take part

  • You are 20 years old or older.
  • You have gallstones that cause symptoms (like pain) or chronic gallbladder inflammation, possibly with stones in the common bile duct.
  • Your overall health is good to fair (ASA class 1 or 2) and your organs work well enough for surgery.
  • You have not been able to get bile duct stones removed by endoscopy (ERCP), or that procedure is not an option for you.
  • If you take blood thinners, you are willing to stop them 5 days before surgery (or switch to a different medicine if you take Warfarin).
