Who can take part

  • You need to be getting a blood culture test as part of your regular care.
  • You weigh more than 50 kg (about 110 pounds).
  • It is possible to collect 2 to 4 extra blood sample bottles from your vein.
  • You do not object to being in this study.
  • You are not currently taking antibiotics for another infection at the time of the blood draw.
