Who can take part

  • You are 21 years old or older.
  • You are an active-duty U.S. military member or a dependent eligible for care at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center for the next 6 months after surgery.
  • You want to correct nearsightedness (up to -4.00 diopters) with or without astigmatism, and your vision has been stable for the past year.
  • You have chosen to have PRK laser eye surgery on both eyes.
  • You do not have severe dry eye, other active eye diseases, or a history of eye surgery, and you are not taking medications that could slow healing.
  • Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant cannot take part.
