NSAID safety in children with kidney disease having surgery

Who can take part

  • You are over 18 months old.
  • You have chronic kidney disease stage 2 or 3 (moderate kidney disease), confirmed by a blood test in the last 6 months.
  • You are scheduled for a urologic surgery that requires staying overnight in the hospital.
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You do not have a true allergy to NSAIDs (like ibuprofen or naproxen).
  • You have not had a kidney transplant or nasal polyps in the past.
