Who can take part

  • You have severe obesity (BMI over 35) and are eligible for weight-loss surgery.
  • You often feel like you lose control over your eating (what doctors call 'disinhibition').
  • You have NOT had a heart attack, stroke, heart failure, or atrial fibrillation.
  • You have not had weight-loss surgery before.
  • You are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study.
  • You don't have dreadlocks (they can interfere with the brain-monitoring cap).
