Activity and preterm birth with short cervix

Cervical Shortening

This study looks at whether staying active during pregnancy can help women with a short cervix (less than 25 mm) lower the risk of delivering early. If you have a short cervix but are otherwise healthy, the study will track your daily activities to see how they relate to your delivery timing.

Who can take part

  • You are between 24 weeks and 34 weeks and 6 days pregnant with one baby.
  • Your cervix is short (less than 25 mm) on an internal ultrasound.
  • You do not have any reason your doctor has told you not to be physically active, like pelvic pain or fall risk.
  • You do not have any urgent pregnancy issues like heavy bleeding, leaking waters, or signs of fetal distress.
  • You are not carrying twins, triplets, or more.
