Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 80 years old.
  • This is your first heart attack (no prior heart attack).
  • You received emergency balloon angioplasty (stent) within 12 hours of chest pain, and it was successful.
  • Your heart's pumping strength (ejection fraction) is at least 35%.
  • You do not have serious health problems like heart failure, severe kidney or liver disease, active cancer, or a bleeding disorder.
  • You are willing to have repeat blood draws and heart ultrasound follow-ups over 6 months.
