Who can take part

  • You are an adult (18 years or older).
  • Your doctor suspects you have a lung infection called pneumocystis.
  • You need a bronchoscopy (a tube into your lungs) to collect fluid or sputum for testing.
  • You or your family member agree to let you be in the study.
  • You have not received treatment for pneumocystis for more than 72 hours.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
