Blood and tissue tests to find markers in muscle and skin disease

This study looks for blood and tissue “biomarkers” (measurable clues in samples) to help diagnose and predict outcomes in inflammatory muscle diseases and systemic sclerosis (a skin/organ condition). If you’re being evaluated for myopathy or early scleroderma, it may help doctors sort out the cause and follow your health more closely.

Study how inflammatory muscle diseases naturally change over time

This study follows people with suspected or confirmed inflammatory muscle disease (and sometimes healthy adults) to better understand how the condition progresses and what changes over time. It may help researchers identify patterns that could guide future treatments.
